Who We Are

Dr. Michael Hinson

President and CEO

Michael Joined the team back in 2002 as a player. He took an active role in leadership and became president of the club in 2007. Michael brings a wealth of knowledge from the handball world. Not only a national champion with LATHC, but he was a player with the USA National Team. He has served as team physician for the USA Youth and Senior National Teams. He is the current head coach for the USA Men's Beach Handball National Team wher he has participated in 5 World Championships.

Jamil Abdalla

Vice President and CFO

Jamil is a founding member of the club back in 2001. He has been an active player, coach and leader with the club for over 25 years. Prior to helping found LA he was an active player at the highest level in Brazil including a stint with the national team.

Mohsen Babasafari

Head Coach - Director of High Performance

Mohsen joins the club with a prestigious career in team handball. Mohsen previously was the team captain for the Iranian National Team receiving highest honors for Asian competitions. Mohsen has played professionally in Europe for over a decade and has been recognized as one of the best goalkeepers in the world. He has won multiple awards including Best Goalkeeper in the Romanian top league.

Mika Manuala

Founding Member

Mika Manuala is one of the founding leaders and members of the club. He has played actively with the club for over 20 years. Prior to founding LATHC Mika played in Finland. As a player in the top league in Finland Mika was recognized as the second leading scorer in all of Europe.
